England all-rounder Chris Jordan has penned a new two-year contract with Sussex that will keep him with the club until the end of the 2019 season.

Jordan, who is a prominent member of England's Twenty20 International squad was the second leading wicket-taker for the club in the 2017 County Championship picked 36 scalps from 11 matches while also scoring 438 runs at an average of 31.28.

The 29-year-old also ended as the club's leading wicket-taker in the Natwest T20 Blast last season in which he snared 16 wickets from 14 matches at an economy of 7.81.

Overall, since joining Sussex in 2013, Jordan has scored 1,765 runs and taken 230 wickets across all the three formats.

Sussex’s Director of Cricket Keith Greenfield is delighted with Jordan's decision to extend his stay with the club.

"It’s fantastic that CJ has signed a contract extension, further committing his future to the club.

"He is becoming a key, senior figure in the squad and is playing an important role in developing the younger bowling group.

"I’m delighted to be extending my stay here at a club I have grown to love.

"There is a lot of talent here and I’m looking forward to winning trophies with this great club."
