Chris Nash And Andrew Hodd Sign Sussex Contracts

Sussex County Cricket Club are please to announce that two young players have signed new contracts following their performances this year. Chris Nash and Andrew Hodd both played key roles in Sussex achieving Championship success this season, and have both recently signed two-year deals with the Club.

Chris Nash has just completed his first full season in the first team and has been rewarded for his exploits with a two-year extension to his contract. Chris opened the batting in all forms of the game this season and has had a successful year. Chris said, "I am delighted to have signed a contract to keep me at the club until 2010. I've played for Sussex since I was nine years old and to play a key role in winning the championship this season was a dream come true. I hope that I can build on a successful first full year in the first team and continue to improve my game in order to fulfil my ambitions to play at the highest level. I hope that I can help to continue what has been the most successful era in Sussex's history with more trophies in the years to come."

Pro Cricket Manager, Mark Robinson said: "'Nashy' fully deserves his extension and played a full part in our championship winning season. He now has a good, firm platform from which to kick on."

Andrew Hodd has signed a new two-year deal with Sussex after solid performances in all forms of the game. Mark Robinson said, "Hoddy came into the team at a time when we had lost two games by an innings, replacing senior player Matt Prior whilst he was on England Test duty. Andrew played with his own style, in his own way and helped transform the season by playing with a brightness and the talent we always knew he had."

Andrew said: "I am extremely proud to be part of such a successful team at Sussex and I'm delighted to have signed a new two-year contract. It has been a great season this year and I hope to play a part in winning more trophies here at Sussex."
