Chris Taylor Is Gloucestershire's Player Of The Month

Thule, the world’s largest manufacturer of car roof rack systems, roof boxes and accessories has presented Gloucestershire County Cricket Club squad member Chris Taylor, with the Thule Player of the Month (POTM) Award for May 2008.

In a month where bad weather interrupted much of Gloucestershire's play, outstanding fielding by Chris Taylor led the sun to shine for the county cricket club. Chris's triumphs included a number of exceptional catches, including 2 difficult chances in Cardiff and a tricky catch to remove Ian Blackwell in Bristol.

Chris, also regarded as invaluable in batting, scored his first century of 2008 at May's Gloucester festival. The festival saw Craig Spearman and Chris Taylor record scores of 95 and 104 respectively in the first innings. Both players have been on fine form this month, but Chris' performance of 77 in the second innings at the Gloucestershire festival potentially saved the match for the Gladiators. Chris also joined Craig in scoring 66 to upset the Glamorgan’s opening party at the Swalec stadium.

Thule, whose UK offices are based in Clevedon, North Somerset, sponsor the Gloucestershire Player of the Month Award. Thule’s UK General Manager Peter Barker presented Chris with his award at the county ground in Bristol. Peter Barker commented: “Chris has long been regarded as one of the best fielders in the country by all those involved in the game. He is seen as an invaluable asset in Gloucestershire's one day triumphs and Thule wish him the best of luck for the rest of the season. ”
