Australia captain Michael Clarke was briefly hospitalised after falling ill with gastroenteritis but is now recovering at home, Cricket Australia (CA) have confirmed.
Clarke returned home from the tour of India having missed the final Test and was subsequently ruled out for up to 10 weeks with back and hamstring injuries.
"Cricket Australia (CA) today advised that Michael Clarke was hospitalised overnight with gastroenteritis," a statement read.
"Clarke has since been discharged from hospital and CA confirms that he is recovering at home."
Clarke faces a battle to return to fitness in time for June's Champions Trophy and the start of the Ashes in July after his injuries ruled him out of the Indian Premier League, which begins in two days.
