Club Cricketers Given Chance To Play At Edgbaston

Ever fancied following in the footsteps of England and Warwickshire cricket stars Jonathan Trott and Ian Bell by playing at Edgbaston Stadium? Well your cricket club could get the chance to play a fixture at the legendary venue.

Edgbaston is giving the two recreational cricket clubs that purchase the most Adult tickets for Day 1 (Thursday 7 June) of the Investec Test Match between England and the West Indies, a chance to grace the hallowed turf of one of the world's most famous cricket venues and play a match in 2013.

England have lost just once in Test Matches at Edgbaston in the last 10 years, and clubs attending Day 1 of the Investec Test can save up to 37.5% off ticket prices when purchasing a bulk amount of 50 adult tickets or more. Additionally, Edgbaston will reward clubs that purchase 50 or more tickets with up to £500 cash back as well as complimentary tickets for the NatWest t20 International between England and South Africa on Wednesday 12 September.

Colin Povey, Chief Executive at Edgbaston, said: "We're aware that cricket club are involved in their fixtures throughout the weekend of the Test Match, so we wanted to provide a great value package for them to watch England on Day 1 as well as an opportunity for them to raise important club funds.

"The opportunity to play at the venue where England have had so many great victories - and went to the top of the ICC Test Match world rankings last summer – will be an unforgettable experience for any keen cricketer. We hope that many club cricket members are able to have a great day out at the Test Match and look forward to welcoming the two clubs for their match here at Edgbaston in 2013."

Edgbaston has created a ticket brochure for cricket clubs that are interested in the Investec Test Match initiative, or attending any of the Warwickshire Bears Friends Life t20 group fixtures, which begin on Friday 15th June against the Worcestershire Royals.
