Streamlined, stylish, sexy almost , it is little wonder that the Model 383 Kiko from Plinth 2000 has been described as ‘the Ferrari of treatment couches’. Even its silver tubular frame has the look of a modern race car chassis. Designed as the next generation of three-section plinth and ideal for clinics where contemporary form is as important as function, the Kiko is lighter, more contoured and comfortable than conventional treatment couches, yet strong enough to withstand very heavy manipulation and working loads, with no flex or whip.

Contemporary Kiko Brings Racy Look To Plinth MarketIn addition to good looks, the Kiko features standard electric height control, gas strut-assisted back and footrest adjustment, deep ‘soft touch’ fire-retardant foam, heavy duty retractable castors for excellent mobility and a full choice of upholstery colours, even a highly distinctive rosso corsa (racing red) if desired. It also comes with Plinth 2000’s unique no-quibble lifetime warranty on the frame mechanism and unconditional 3-year warranty on components.

Suitable for all types of manipulation, examination and therapy, it is ideal for physiotherapy, osteopathy and chiropractic clinics, sports clubs, hair and beauty salons, tattoo parlours, aromatherapy and massage centres. The contemporary design and wide choice of upholstery colours, including custom shades to special order, also make Kiko worthy of consideration when fitting out treatment clinics in hotels, cruise ships and leisure centres.

Originally founded in 1988, Suffolk-based Plinth 2000 is acknowledged as a market leader in the manufacture of purpose-made treatment couches and enjoys a particular reputation for the design of its plinth frames, which are cleaner and less complicated and require virtually no maintenance, yet are extremely stable and robust. Many of its clinical and therapy clients build their practices around a treatment table, which is in constant use throughout the day, every working day, and depend upon the proven reliability of Plinth 2000 frames and mechanisms, with many of its earliest models delivering trouble-free service for more than 16 years.

Meeting customer demand from some sectors for a more 21st century look, Plinth 2000 designed the Model 383 Kiko literally from the feet upwards, engineering the tubular frame by hand to eliminate any glitches or pinch points, before rendering it in CAD/CAM 3D modelling software for production at its Wetheringsett Manor factory. Built to ISO9001 certificated quality standards and CE marked, the 3-section plinth is a full 189cm (74”) length, slightly over-standard 65cm (25”) width and has an adjustable working height between 46m (18”) and 95cm (37”), for easy patient transfer and treatment. Compatible with mobile hoists, it has a safe working load and lifting capacity of 225kg (35 stones), yet weighs only 75kg (165lbs), around 10kg less than a conventional 3-section couch. The tubular steel frame is epoxy powder coated in silver, although other finishes are offered.

Electric height adjustment is featured as standard, operated by hand control or optional footswitch, and gas-filled struts allow for smooth back and footrest angle adjustment, with motorised action available to order. There is an adjustable foot to compensate for uneven floors and four retractable double-wheel castors, made from high impact plastic. A range of accessories is available to tailor the couch for individual requirements, including broad padded arm supports for minor procedures and examinations.

The 3-section platform itself is roundly contoured and padded with double-thickness polyurethane foam for extra comfort; there is also a breathing hole and plug, allowing the patient to lie prone during treatment. The fire-retardant, washable vinyl upholstery incorporates patented antimicrobial technology, proven to be effective against E-coli, Salmonella and MRSA, and is suitable for cleaning and disinfecting with NaDCC-based products.

The Kiko 3-section plinth is priced at £895 ex VAT and a for a limited period is offered with free delivery and a free paper roll holder. Monthly lease terms are also available from around £30.

Now that we lead increasingly busy lives, evening is the most convenient time of day to exercise, and the ideal time for cricket clubs to hold mid-week practice sessions.
