Cook Islands Cricket will be showcasing a combination of beautiful beaches and entertaining cricket in January when they launch their Festival of Cricket to cricketers across the globe.

The Cook Islands Festival of Cricket is a month-long celebration January involving five international tournaments: Boy’s U15 & U19 Twenty20, Women’s Twenty20, Social Sixes (including Golden Oldies Grade) and an indoor cricket competition.

According to Cook Islands Crickets CEO Alister Stevic the Festival has garnered interest across the world.

"We have interest from as far as Europe and South America, from teams looking for the most unique cricketing experience in the world and others wanting to escape miserable weather for our blue lagoons, hot weather and white sandy beaches," he said.

Stevic goes on to say that Cook Islands cricketers have become regarded as some of the most exciting cricketers in the world.

"Teams are amazed at the style of cricket Cook Islanders play, it isn’t just a game for us, it is a way of life, a reason to celebrate.

"Nowhere else in the world will you experience singing, dancing, banter and big hits all on the cricket field while playing next to the most beautiful beaches the world has to offer."
