Leicestershire 415-3 (Cosgrove 137no) v Derbyshire
County Championship Division Two, Derby, day one
Colin Ackermann and Mark Cosgrove scored centuries for Leicestershire as they went on to score 415 for three at stumps on day one against Derbyshire in the County Championship Division Two clash at Derby.
Leicestershire won the toss and decided to bat first. Paul Horton (20) got a decent start but was stumped off the bowling of Tony Palladino (1-71) in the 16th over.
Harry Dearden (46) and Colin Ackermann (118) consolidated the innings with a 64 run stand for the second wicket to take Leicestershire past the 100-run mark but Tom Taylor (1-86) accounted for the former in the second session to leave the visitors in a spot of bother.
This is when Ackermann and Cosgrove (137 not out) joined together for a decisive 175 run stand that took Leicestershire off the woods. Both the batsmen completed their respective centuries as Leicestershire looked good for a big first innings total.
Even though, Jeevan Mendis (1-99) snared Ackermann, Cosgrove along with Ned Eckersley (77 not out) ensured Leicestershire ended the day at 415 for three with their unbeaten 139 run stand for the fourth wicket.
