LV County Championship Division One

At Trent Bridge, Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire had to settle for a draw. Yorkshire were all out for 256 in their second innings, Nottinghamshire made 352 before Yorkshire batted on in their second innings, ending the game when they declared on 519 for eight. Jacques Rudolph top scored with 149 while there were half-centuries for Joe Sayers (86), Jonathan Bairstow (82), and Richard Pyrah (50 not out) and Paul Franks picked up three wickets.

NatWest Pro40 Division Two

Ian Bell thumped 105 in 101 balls and Jonathan Trott made a swift 36 as Warwickshire scored 246 for six against Derbyshire  at Edgbaston. Bell hit 12 fours and a six before Greg Smith grabbed two wickets. The Bears then completed a crushing 110-run win by bowling their visitors out for just 136. Shanthakumaran Sreesanth and Neil Carter both took three wickets as Derbyshire crashed to defeat.

Leicestershire reached 217 for eight against Glamorgan. Boeta Dippenaar (49) and Wayne White (46 not out) couldn't quite get to half-centuries as Huw Waters, David Harrison and Mark Cosgrove picked up two wickets apiece. Nevertheless, 217 proved to be a winning score as Glamorgan folded to be all out for 194. Will Bragg made 78 but White completed a fine day with four wickets to hand the Foxes another win.

Kent were bundled out for 162 by Lancashire at Old Trafford. Justin Kemp, skippering a young side, top scored with 44 as Steven Mullaney returned three for 36. Mal Loye then hit 55 and when rain stopped play early, Lancashire's score of 80 for one from 17.4 overs handed them the match by 15 runs.

The Cheeselympics will form part of Somerset's first ever Cider and Cheese Festival on Saturday 16th June at Quantock View, Nether Stowey, near Bridgwater.
Cricket fans could well get the chance to see the likes of Stuart Broad, Marcus Trescothick and James Hildreth in action at Wormsley cricket ground this summer. Wormsley are making available their picturesque Buckinghamshire ground for the Unicorns to play three Clydesdale Bank 40 matches - against Somerset on Sunday May 1, Nottinghamshire on Sunday May 15 and Glamorgan on Monday August 29.
