County Stars Back New T20 Blast
Listen as Gloucestershire's Michael Klinger, Glamorgan's Michael Hogan and Yorkshire's Andrew Gale give their support to the NatWest T20 Blast, which gets underway on 17th May.
This year, the tournament will be played predominantly on Friday nights and all three back the new format of the competition, which they believe will increase crowd numbers and entertainment levels.
Michael Klinger, Michael Hogan and Andrew Gale were speaking ahead of the start of the NatWest T20 Blast season.
Klinger talks about his experience of playing IPL and Big Bash League cricket before outlining his hopes for the Bristol-based side this season.
Hogan talks about the challenges he faces as a fast bowler trying to avoid being hitting for six every ball and also talks about how Glamorgan are hoping last year's trip to Lord's for the final of the 40-over competition can serve as inspiration.
He also comes up with a new take on an old cliché, telling us that 'you are only as good as your next game' when summing up Glamorgan's excellent start to the season.
Gale talks about the various challenges he will face as Yorkshire captain, from setting the field and working out who needs to be bowling, to the work that goes in even before then to select a team given who is available and who isn't.
He also talks about having Australian international Aaron Finch arriving at the club later this year and the boost he hopes that will give the side.
Blast off is Friday 16th May, tickets can be purchased from www.ecb.co.uk/natwestt20blast
