Guyana's win saw them hand a first defeat to the Barbados Tridents with a 27-run win while Red Steel beat the Antigua Hawksbills by one run on the Duckworth/Lewis method.
Guyana hit 149 for nine in their match before bowling Barbados out for 122. Martin Guptill top scored with 73 and Mohammad Hafeez then took three for 19 during a match that only six players in total reached double figures.
Red Steel posted 169 from their 20 overs as captain Dwayne Bravo hit 46 and both Adrian Barath and Darren Bravo scored 38.
Rain reduced Antigua's target to 134 in 15 overs and they eventually needed 19 to win from the final over. Despite the best efforts of Sheldon Cotterrell (19 not out in seven balls) they fell short, closing on 132 for eight.
