Days after qualifying to play for England on 17th February, Somerset's South African-born wicket-keeper Craig Kieswetter has been added to England's One-Day International squad to tour Bangladesh.
After an impressive 2009 season for Somerset, he starred for the England Lions in the United Arab Emirates, top scoring in four matches against Pakistan A and England.
“Craig has impressed both the EPP and national coaches with his attitude, glovework and hard-hitting batting during the course of his time with the England Performance Programme," national selector Geoff Miller told the England & Wales Cricket Board's (ECB) website (www.ecb.co.uk).
Kieswetter added: “I’ve worked very hard over the course of the winter as part of the England Performance Programme and have been especially pleased with my recent form on the England Lions tour to the UAE.
“I’m delighted to have been called into the one-day squad and am excited about the opportunity to tour Bangladesh with the England team.”
England play the first of three One-Day Internationals in Mirpur on 28th February ahead of two Tests.
