Craig McMillan has joined the New Zealand coaching team as full-time batting coach and been given a two-year contract.
McMillan has been working with the Black Caps on an interim basis but now joins head coach Mike Hesson on a permanent basis.
"The West Indies and NZA tours were his first as a coach at that level, and we’re very happy with his development," New Zealand Cricket's Lindsay Crocker said.
"He’s been awarded his two year contract on that basis and I’m confident he’ll continue to form an excellent coaching trio with Mike (Hesson) and Shane (bowling coach Shane Bond)."
McMillan played 55 Tests, 197 One-Day Internationals and eight Twenty20 Internationals for New Zealand between 1997 and 2007.
His appointment comes one day after Hesson signed a two-year extension to his contract.
