Cricket Australia (CA) are conducting a 'thorough investigation' into a series of abusive tweets that appeared on Delhi Daredevils batsman David Warner's timeline earlier today.

The tweets were aimed at journalists including Malcolm Conn of News Limited Group and Robert Craddock.

A statement from CA read: "Cricket Australia is aware of comments made on David Warner’s twitter account overnight.

"Cricket Australia is attempting to contact Warner and will continue to investigate the matter.

"Cricket Australia will make further comment once it has conducted a thorough investigation."

Warner struggled during Australia's 4-0 Test defeat in India and although he has scored 408 runs - more than any of his team-mates - Delhi failed to reach the play-offs in this year's IPL.
