Alastair Cook has torn into India's bowling attack during the third Test and William Hill make him the 2/1 favourite to win this year’s ICC Cricketer of the Year.
The top of the betting for the premier award in cricket is dominated by English cricketers with Graeme Swann and Jonathan Trott both offered at 6/1. James Anderson is 14/1 while Strauss is 16/1, Ian Bell and Chris Tremlett are 20/1 and Stuart Broad 25/1.
"English cricket is going through a purple patch at the moment and spearheading their charge to the top of the rankings is Alastair Cook, who’s runs have proved invaluable against Australia, Sri Lanka and India," said Hill’s cricket betting expert Joe Crilly.
