England head into their ICC World T20 match with Afghanistan as hot favourites at 1/16 to win and Afghanistan 8/1. Craig Keiswetter is 4/1 with William Hill to be England’s top batsman in an England win.

Luke Wright is expected to be the man to take Kevin Pietersen’s batting spot and is 7/2 to top score on Friday behind co favourites Alex Hales and Craig Keiswetter at 3/1. Wright is 5/6 to score 24 or more runs and the same price to score 23 or less.

Steven Finn is the 3/1 favourite to be the top England bowler on Friday with Graeme Swann and Stuart Broad both 10/3. Danny Briggs and Jade Dernbach are 7/2 with Tim Bresnan a 9/1 chance.

England are 8/1 to retain the ICC World T20 with their first opponents Afghanistan outsiders at 500/1. India and Sri Lanka share favouritism at 9/2 each. South Africa are 5/1.

"Luke Wright has big boots to fill in Pietersen’s absence but the match against Afghanistan should be one where he can gain some confidence in his ability to hit some big scores in the coming weeks,” said William Hill cricket betting spokesman Mark Young.

Check out the information in this article to help you decide the right bet to beat the bookies. The County Cricket season is well underway now and the next round of matches will no doubt throw up a few surprises as well.
England are not the favourites they were a few months back with the bookies and it is not without some reason following their somewhat uncertain start to the series against New Zealand. Following England's less than impressive start to the 1st Test against New Zealand, however, we are still favouring a home win this summer. England have shown some weakness in their batting line-up without Kevin Pietersen, however, their bowling attack is in much better shape with Broad Anderson and Finn all looking at the top of their game.
After cruising to victory against New Zealand, William Hill make England 8/1 to go unbeaten in Test match cricket for the remainder of this calendar year. Going into the second test at Headingley, England are 4/7 to win, while New Zealand are 8/1 with the draw 2/1.
England are on the drift in The Ashes cricket betting according to Ladbrokes. Following England's less than impressive start to the 1st Test against New Zealand, the firm are still favouring a home win this summer at 1/2 (from 4/9), with Australia's odds cut to 3/1 (from 7/2).
England will be very happy to hear that Graeme Swann & Tim Bresnan have been passed fit for the first test against New Zealand. As a result England are 1/2 red hot favourites to deliver victory in the first test, with New Zealand 8/1 outsiders. England can be backed at 5/4 to win the series 2-0.
Chris Gayle's 175 not out in the IPL is possibly the greatest ever T20 innings there is ever likely to be. 175 from 66 balls with 17 sixes and, had he not by his own admission "slowed down" in the middle of his innings, it could have been 200! The West Indies has given the cricket world batsmen like Gary Sobers, Brian Lara, Viv Richards and now Chris Gayle joins the greats of West Indian cricket.
