Victor Chandler make Alistair Cook their 6/4 favourite to be the first English batsman to make 23 Test centuries after the Oval tons of Kevin Pietersen and Ian Bell brought them right into the equation on 19 and 16 respectively.
VC spokesperson and cricket betting expert Charlie McCann said: "No English batsman has scored 23 Test centuries but with Strauss, Cook and now Pietersen all having 19 Test hundreds and Bell picking up nicely from the rear this could be some race over the next 12 months or so.
"England are due to play Pakistan (in Dubai and Abu Dhabi) and Sri Lanka in the early part of 2012 before home series’ with the West Indies and South Africa. During the year England will play 13 Tests and it is possible that one of the trio will make the four hundreds required; but which one?"
