William Hill have cut the price of Kevin Pietersen to make a return to the England team from 33/1 to 14/1 after support from the public overnight.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) management told Pietersen that they would be moving on without him before both parties issued statements yesterday.
However, the British public would appear to disagree with the decision, given the amount of money they have placed on his retirement not being a permanent one.
"We have a five figure liability on KP returning to play Test Cricket for England," William Hill cricket betting expert Rupert Adams said.
"The public have spoken and obviously want him back," he added.
Peter Moores has been trimmed from 33/1 to 6/1 to become England's new coach but England themselves are on the drift.
They are now 8/1 from 6/1 to win the ICC World Twenty20 2014.
"England are a worse team without KP and we are now 8/1 from 6/1 to win the Twenty20 World Cup," Adams said.
England’s Next Head Coach: 4/6 Ashley Giles; 6/1 Mick Newell; 6/1 Peter Moores, 12/1 Stephen Fleming; 14/1 Tom Moody; 20/1 Dav Whatmore; 20/1 Graham Ford; 20/1 Paul Collingwood; 25/1 Gary Kirsten, 25/1 Micky Arthur, 25/1 Paul Nixon, 33/1 Ray Jennings
