A gutsy William Hill punter from Dagenham has swum against the current and backed Pakistan to the tune of £3.5k to win the third ODI, despite England winning the first two relatively comfortably. Pakistan are 10/11 to win the match with England the same price.

After the woeful test series, England, and in particular Steven Finn and Alastair Cook, have really stepped up to the plate and these are proving popular in Hill’s player markets. All the money in the top England bowler book has been for Steven Finn at 11/4 while Alastair Cook has been well backed at the same price to be England’s top runscorer. Cook has also been well backed at 9/2 to bag his third century in three games.

"England have really upped their game since being so disappointing in the Test Series but there are still those that think that their next sub-continent slip up maybe just around the corner," said Hill’s spokesman and cricket betting expert Joe Crilly.
