Andrew Strauss is heavily odds-on to lead England to success against the West Indies, according to Ladbrokes.

Despite his poor performances in the Sri Lanka tour, the firm are confident he's the right man for the job making Strauss 1/16 to face the West Indies this summer as the England captain, with the team favoured at 1/6 for an overdue series win.

The South Africa (7/4) Test series should prove harder, however England (5/4) edge favouritism in the betting and Strauss remains odds-on (1/8) to lead the team out. The draw can be backed at 11/4.

English punters latched onto the national side after 4 defeats on the spin, which prompted the bookies into a £50,000 payout to patriotic fans

Jessica Bridge, cricket betting expert of Ladbrokes said: "As far as we're concerned there's no question that Strauss is the right man for the job. A moral boosting victory against the Windies is the exactly what Strauss and the team need."
