Tim Nielson has stepped down as Australia coach and William Hill are offering odds on who will take over the reins.

Interim coach, Steve Rixon is the 11/8 favourite to take over as the next permanent coach, while Justin Langer is 3/1 second favourite.

Everybody’s favourite metrosexual, Shane Warne is 16/1 to take the top job, while Glenn McGrath is 25/1.

With Australian Test cricket in the doldrums, Hills are offering 4/1 that under the tutelage of their new coach, the side reach the top of the rankings by the end of 2012.

"Under Neilson, Australia have been going through a transitional period, without producing the kind of results that the fans are used to," said Hill’s spokesman and cricket betting expert Joe Crilly.

"With a new man at the helm, Australia could well recapture the form that made them the best in the world."
