All-rounder Shahid Afridi will captain Pakistan when they take on Sri Lanka in their Twenty20 International in Colombo on 12th August.
Afridi, who played a match-winning role when the two sides met in the ICC World Twenty20 final at Lord's earlier this year, will captain the side after Younus Khan decided to step down after the tournament.
"Chairman PCB has appointed Shahid Afridi Captain for the Twenty 20 Match against Sri Lanka," a statement from the Pakistan Cricket Board read.
Afridi missed the Test series in Sri Lanka after being granted a period of rest by the board following the ICC World Twenty20 but he is set to return for the five-match One-Day International series.
Sri Lanka won the Test series 2-0.
