Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka by five wickets in the final group game of the Asia Cup 2012 to secure their place in the final against Pakistan. Sri Lanka were bowled out for 232 and after Bangladesh were set a target of 212 in 40 overs after a rain break, they reached 212 for five in 37.1 overs.
A stunning innings of 183 in 148 balls from Virat Kohli drove India to a six-wicket win over Pakistan that keeps their Asia Cup hopes alive. Despite conceding 330 in less than 48 overs to cede defeat, Pakistan are at least safe in the knowledge that they will contest the final on 22nd March - when either India or Bangladesh will be their opponents.
Sachin Tendulkar was unable to celebrate a victory on the occasion of his 100th international century as a superb run chase from Bangladesh threw the Asia Cup 2012 wide open once again. Tendulkar had scored 114 to help India post 289 for five but his side were defeated thanks to half-centuries from Tamim Iqbal, Jahurul Islam and Nasir Hossain as well as a blistering unbeaten 46 in 25 balls from captain Mushfiqur Rahim.
International Cricket Council Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat has congratulated Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar after he reached his 100th international century. He scored 114 against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup, ending a wait of more than a year to move off of century number 99. The knock was also his 49th ODI century.
