Chairman of Valley End Cricket Club in Surrey, James Young, talks to Alastair Symondson after two of the club's players - Ed Young and Luc Durandt - scored centuries in UCCE matches against the first-class counties.
Both players were involved when Valley End won the Village Knock-Out Trophy in 2009 - nine players in that team had won an Under-13 Trophy in Surrey in the early part of the 21st century.
The club were also honoured by the visit of former Surrey and England man Mickey Stewart, who opened the new disabled and VI cricket cage, during their Natwest CricketForce weekend.
The cage is part of a £1.4 million project to build two new pitches on a new ground close to our existing pitch which was first used in 1895. Over £200k of the £650k spent so far on the project has come in kind from work and expertise offered by volunteers from within the club.
