Cricket World's Daniel Grummitt makes his predictions for the 2014 season, from the ICC World Cup Qualifier through to the county season in the UK.
This year, we have invited our correspondents and team members to predict a number of cricket events as well as other major sporting events in what is a huge year for sport as well as cricket.
Here are Daniel's selections.
Women's Ashes - Got to go for England after the disappointment of the men's campaign!
World Cup Qualifier - The Netherlands and maybe a Collingwood-inspired Scotland to qualify. This is because I am reckoning Asian teams (Hong Kong, Nepal, UAE) may struggle in New Zealand due to an over-reliance on spinners. Namibia are dark horses.
ICC World Twenty20 - England the dark horses in this with their powerful top-order. However, Swann's retirement a blow so will go for India.
Women's World T20 - Will be patriotic and again go for England!
Six Nations Rugby - I know virtually nothing about it so will go for reigning champions Wales.
Indian Premier League - Don't want to go for defending champions so will go for Chennai Super Kings
Hockey World Cup - I know even less about it than Rugby, but seem to recall that Pakistan are quite good so was going to go for them, but having now researched it a bit and realising they haven't qualified (shows how much I know!) I will revert to Australia.
Football World Cup - Again, not a big follower so will go with home nation Brazil (at least they qualified!)
Wimbledon Tennis - My brother will kill me for not saying Andy Murray, but I will go for Rafael Nadal.
English T20 Cup - Always difficult to call but I fancy Nottinghamshire to finally move on from being nearly men.
England v India Test series - Has to be India 3-1.
County Championship - Again will go for Nottinghamshire - recruitment of Peter Siddle a shrewd move and Phil Jaques will ensure Alex Hales isn't missed too much early on.
English 50-over Competition - Hampshire always do well in one-day cricket so will go for them.
F1 Champion - Has to be Vettel despite the rule changes. Will probably have the best car and can't see Ricciardo challenging him too much.
Players to watch: - Desperately want Flower or (if he is resigned) Giles to see sense and pick James Taylor, who will then go on to have a magnificent summer! Tymal Mills to impress and Stephen Moore to thrive at new county Derbyshire.
I am most looking forward to: The World T20 should be a classic and England v India has potential if England can be rejuvenated after dismal winter.
Anything else: Ronnie O'Sullivan to win the Snooker World Championship!
We'll be looking back at our predictions at the end of the year and if you want to have a go, then please leave us a comment below.
