As Sri Lanka and India set to face each other one final time this season in the only Twenty20 International game in Colombo, Chetan Narula gives Cricket World TV an exclusive insight on what to expect from the encounter.
Barring the second One-Day International, Sri Lanka failed to show any fight in the series as they succumbed to 0-5 whitewash with India extending their dominance under skipper Virat Kohli.
Chetan had high praises for Kohli, who went on to level former Australia captain Ricky Ponting with 30 centuries in ODIs and now has only Sachin Tendulkar with 49 hundreds above him.
Chetan believes the rate at which Kohli is going on, the 28-year-old might be a serious contender for the maestro's record. Also MS Dhoni became the first wicket-keeper to record 100 stumpings during the fifth ODI against India.
Sri Lanka might have a chance to redeem themselves as the shortest format of the game can help the sides close the gap between them and Chetan feels the home side need to find ways to carry on the momentum in the middle and end overs.
With Shikhar Dhawan returning back home, Rohit Sharma and Lokesh Rahul are likely to open the innings with Manish Pandey expected to take his place in the middle order over Ajinkya Rahane while Hardik Pandya, who was rested for the final ODI is set to return as well.
For Sri Lanka, Kusal Mendis has been rested while there has been some fitness concern about Milinda Siriwardana with Ashan Priyanjan called as a cover.
