Northamptonshire have annoucned that they will not be offering new contracts to Steven Crook and Ryan Cummins at the end of the season.

Injuries have limited the opportunities for both players after they joined from Lancashire and Leicestershire in 2005 and 2009 respectively.

Chief Executive Mark Tagg said: “Both players are outstanding professionals and it is a shame we didn’t see them out on the County Ground field more often. Whatever they choose to do in the future, Northants Cricket would like to wish the pair all the best.”

Head Coach David Capel added: “It’s a shame for these two smashing lads and for Northants that we haven’t seen the best of these two talented players. It is unfortunate, but I’d like to wish both Steven and Ryan all the very best in their future careers.”
