Australia fast bowler Patrick Cummins will return home from the Australia 'A' tour of South Africa after suffering another injury setback.
On his return, he will undergo further assessment and treatment on a lower rib and back injury.
"Pat reported some left rib/back pain during the Australia ‘A’ game against India A last week," Cricket Australia physiotherapist Kevin Sims confirmed.
"With only Wednesday’s final remaining in the series, the decision was made for him to return to Australia to assess the injury."
It is the latest in a series of blows for the 20-year-old. He made his international debut in 2011, hitting the winning runs on Test debut in Johannesburg only to miss the rest of the year with a heel injury.
Having made a comeback, he suffered a side strain in England in July of last year but was fit enough to play in the ICC World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka.
He has played just a single Test, five One-Day Internationals and 11 Twenty20 Internationals to date.
