19-year-old Stokes first helped finish off Hampshire's innings of 294 with a haul of six for 68 in 13 overs including the big wickets of James Vince and Neil McKenzie.

He followed that up by hitting a brilliant unbeaten 135 as Durham declared on 310 for three in reply. Included in Stokes' innings were five sixes from one Liam Dawson over, and he hit 13 fours and one more six in all as Durham set Hampshire an unliekly 490 to win the game.
