Derbyshire Gear Up For One-Day Game Number 1000

The Clydesdale Bank 40 match against Middlesex Panthers on Tuesday 24th August will be Derbyshire’s 1,000th limited overs fixture.

The Club is hoping to celebrate in style with a bumper crowd in front of the SKY Sports cameras to demonstrate the support and enthusiasm of the Derbyshire public.

Junior Members of the Club have been invited to bring guests free of charge as newly appointed captain Greg Smith and his side aim for their third Clydesdale Bank 40 victory of the season.

Smith said: “Although a place in the semi-final is unfortunately beyond us, the incentive is there because we want to put on a performance for our home crowd and for those watching around the world on SKY Sports.

“The support at our last home match against Yorkshire at Chesterfield was excellent and - although the result went against us in the end – the crowd saw a thoroughly entertaining spectacle.

“Hopefully the support will come out in force again and the match will be equally exciting only this time with a better result.”

Play between the Falcons and the Panthers will begin at 4.40pm and is scheduled to continue until 10.25pm under the floodlights at the County Ground.

Tickets are priced at £13 adults, £6 juniors if purchased in advance; £15 adults, £8 juniors on the day of the game.

Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling 01332 388 101, visiting derbyshireccc.com or by visiting the Gateway Centre at the County Ground situated at Grandstand Road, Derby.
