MS Dhoni guided the Chennai Super Kings to a five-wicket win over the Rajasthan Royals as he reprised his finishing role in the final over of the latest Indian Premier League 2014 match.
Dhoni struck an unbeaten 26 not out in 16 balls as Chennai chased down their target of 149 with two balls to spare.
Dwayne Smith had earlier struck 44 in 35 balls and Faf du Plessis 38 in 29 deliveries after the Royals had posted 148 for eight.
Shane Watson (51 in 36 balls), Ankit Sharma (30 in 27) and Stuart Binny (22 in 17) did the bulk of the run-scoring in Rajasthan's innings as Mohit Sharma (3-31), Ravindra Jadeja (2-18), Samuel Badree (1-19) and Ravichandran Ashwin (1-39) took the wickets.
Smith then hit five fours and two sixes and du Plessis contributed two fours before the game went down to the wire.
Dhoni struck a four and a six while Jadeja finished unbeaten on 11 in six balls with one maximum to finish the game off in Chennai's favour.
