Tillakaratne Dilshan hit a whirlwind century as Sri Lanka defeated Australia by 35 runs in the first Twenty20 International in Pallekele.
Leading the side by example, Dilshan hammered 104 not out in just 57 balls to set up a winning score of 198 for three.
His innings included 12 fours and five sixes and he was given support by Kumar Sangakkara and Jeeven Mendis, who both made quickfire innings of 30 to put the game out of Australia's reach.
David Warner hit 53 in 31 balls but Australia's top order was dismantled by two wickets from Nuwan Kulasekara and three from Dilruwan Perera and from 89 for five, they were unable to recover.
The two sides meet again on 8th August.
