Women's Quadrangular Series Final in Potchefstroom

After Jhulan Goswami and Poonam Yadav picked three wickets apiece to bowl out South Africa Women for 156, Poonam Raut and Mithali Raj scored half centuries to help India Women complete the chase in 33 overs with eight wickets in hand to win the final of the Women's Quadrangular series in Potchefstroom.

India won the toss and decided to field first. Andrie Steyn (4) and Trisha Chetty (6) had rare failures but Sune Luus (55) and Mignon du Preez (30) consolidated the innings with their 73 run stand for the third wicket.

Shikha Pandey (2-23) provided India the breakthrough with the wicket of du Preez while Luus too fell on reaching her half century following which South Africa never recovered and were bowled out for 156 runs in 40.2 overs.

India had a scare in the chase with in-form Deepti Sharma (8) and Mona Meshram (8) dismissing early but Raut (70 not out) and skipper Mithali (62 not out) ensured there was no looking back as they completed the chase in 33 overs with eight wickets in hand.
