Cricket South Africa (CSA) have moved quickly to appoint Russell Domingo as the successor to Gary Kirsten as South Africa coach after the latter's decision not to renew his contract.

Domingo, Kirsten's assistant coach, was appointed Twenty20 coach of the Proteas earlier this year and will take over control of all three teams on 1st August 2013.

"It's wasn't a difficult decision for the Board. In 2011 we started off by creating stability and continuity in the team setup," CSA President and Board Chairman Chris Nenzani said.

Domingo added: "It's a massive day in my life and career. Thanks to CSA for having the confidence in me to take up this important role."

Domingo will take charge of the team during the limited overs series against Sri Lanka in August before leading the Proteas into home series against India and Australia in the 2013/14 season.
