Donald To Stay On As Consultant Until September

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced that South African Allan Donald will be extending his stay in his role as fast bowling consultant to the England team until after the Twenty20 World Championships in September.

The former South African fast bowler was due to end his time with the team at the end of the NatWest series with the West Indies, but he will now be available for the Indian tour and preparation for the first Twenty20 World Cup in his native country.

In a statement released earlier today, Donald said:

“I’ve greatly enjoyed my time working with the England fast bowlers and am delighted to be staying on in the role until September. We have an exciting crop of bowlers in the England ranks and I’m looking forward to continue working with them for the remainder of the summer and the first tour of the winter.

“Both Kevin Shine and Peter Moores have provided excellent guidance in working with the ECB Fast Bowling Programme and I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue my association in a consultancy capacity.”
