All-rounder Lucy Doolan is set for her return to international cricket following knee surgery after she was named in New Zealand Women's 15-member squad for the ICC World Twenty20.
The White Ferns, runners-up to England in the inaugural event in 2009, have kept faith with the majority of the squad which won five Twenty20 Internationals against Australia earlier this year while welcoming Doolan back to the fold.
Liz Perry is the only uncapped member of the squad and Rachel Priest the only specialist wicket-keeper; cover is provided by Maria Fahey and Doolan.
“We have an exciting blend of youth and experience in this squad with plenty of versatility to cover the different options that are required in the variable West Indian conditions," coach Gary Stead told New Zealand Cricket's (NZC) website (www.blackcaps.co.nz).
“With the exception of Wellington Blaze middle order batsmen Liz Perry, who was in excellent from during the North/South series, each member of the team has international experience.
“There are a number of power hitters in the team and that could be a key on the small Warner Park ground,” he added.
New Zealand will take on India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan in Group B of the tournament, which gets underway on 5th May in Saint Kitts.
