Draw In Pallekele As Final Day Washed Out
West Indies 303-8 (DM Bravo 68) drew with
Third Test, Pallekele, day five
The final day of the third and final Test between Sri Lanka and the West Indies was abandoned due to rain in Pallekele and the match was drawn as a result.
Consequently, the series was drawn 0-0 after all three Tests were rain-affected draws with the opening matches in Galle and Colombo also failing to produce a positive result.
The West Indies were set to resume on 303 for eight with Sulieman Benn unbeaten on 29 and Kemar Roach on 12 after there was also little play possible on day four.
The entire third day's play was abandoned due to the rain while half-centuries from Devon Smith, Darren Bravo and Shivnarine Chanderpaul had laid the foundations for the West Indies over the opening two days.
The two sides now begin a series of five One-Day Internationals, which begins at Hambantota on 9th December.
