Durham Duo Promote Friends Provident Trophy

Durham and England players Paul Collingwood and Liam Plunkett donned their Dynamos shirts alongside the rest of England’s World Cup squad to promote the upcoming Friends Provident Trophy.

Durham Dynamos Friends Provident Trophy campaign starts on Sunday 22 April when they face Leicestershire Foxes at Grace Road. The Dynamos opening home game in the competition is on Sunday 29 April when they play Derbyshire Phantoms.

On Bank Holiday Monday (7 May) the Dynamos play Lancashire Lightning at the Riverside, giving families the perfect opportunity to come down and enjoy a day of top flight cricket. In addition to the game there will be plenty of entertainment off the field for children to enjoy, with bouncy castles and a host of other fun activities on offer.

The Friends Provident Trophy - the England and Wales Cricket Board's domestic one-day competition - is being hailed as the launch pad to one-day international cricket by a number of England's ICC Cricket World Cup team.

As a 50-over competition and with the introduction of semi-finals in 2007 leading to the same format as the current ICC Cricket World Cup in the West Indies, the Friends Provident Trophy is the only domestic competition that replicates the One-Day International format.

The Friends Provident Trophy will be officially launched on April 10 at Lord’s Cricket Ground, with the competition getting underway on Sunday April 22 and both semi-finals due to be held on Wednesday June 20.

The Friends Provident Trophy Final will be held at Lord's on Saturday August 18.

Tickets for Durham Dynamos home fixtures can be purchased online at www.durhamccc.co.uk or by calling the Box Office, during office hours, on 0870 389 1991. Adult admission is £12 when purchased in advance (£15 on the day) and junior admission is £5 (£6 on the day).
