Durham Forced To Ring The Changes
Durham will be forced to do without three key players as they prepare for the LV County Championship Division One match with Warwickshire.
Steve Harmison, Paul Collingwood and Liam Plunkett, who featured in last week's 157-run win over Kent, have been selected in England's squad for the first Test against the West Indies at Lord's.
Recalls have been handed to Gordon Muchall, Ottis Gibson and Callum Thorp as Mark Davies is included in the squad for the trip to the West Midlands.
Durham currently lie third in the table, and talking to www.ecb.co.uk, coach Geoff Cook said:
"We've had some good results but we can improve our play.
"It was a bit tricky for me because Martyn [Moxon] only left a month before the start of the season, but the squad was in place and the players have responded.
"It was great to have Harmy for the start of the season, Michael Di Venuto has scored 500 runs in three games, and Kyle Coetzer had an impressive first game last week when he made 74.
"With the England internationals missing, we need the support players to come in and punch their weight.''
Squad: Will Smith, Michael Di Venuto, Gordon Muchall, Garry Park, Kyle Coetzer, Dale Benkenstein (captain), Phil Mustard (wicket-keeper), Gareth Breese, Ottis Gibson, Mark Davies, Callum Thorp, Graham Onions
