Durham Made To Wait For Warner

urham will not be able to call upon the services of Australian opening batsman David Warner until June after he was called into Australia's pre-ICC World Twenty20 camp.

The hard-hitting left-hander was due to join up with the 2008 County Champions after his stint with the Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League (IPL) but he will now not be available for the Dynamos until the conclusion of the ICC World Twenty20 in June.

“Obviously it’s disappointing that David won’t be with us sooner but his absence will give someone else in the squad the opportunity to come forward and hopefully put in some match winning performances and at the same time develop their Twenty20 skills," head coach Geoff Cook was quoted as saying on Durham's official website (www.durhamccc.co.uk)

Durham have lost their first two Twenty20 Cup games against Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
