Durham's Under 15's Travel To Dubai For Gulf Trophy

Thirteen young players from Durham County Cricket Club's Under 15 squad will be travelling to Dubai in early January to take part in the Insportz Gulf Trophy.

This is the third time an Under 15 squad from Durham County Cricket Club has travelled to take part in the competition. This year’s squad will be defending the title, which was won by last year’s Durham representatives, against increasing competition in this age group. Durham Director of Cricket Geoff Cook and Academy Coach John Windows will travel with the team.

Coach John Windows said, "I’m really pleased to be taking another group over to Sharjah. This trip undoubtedly gives our players great experience playing on pitches that are conducive to spin, which we don’t often get in the UK, so it will be great practice for them. This year there are teams from India and Pakistan, as well as teams from the Gulf competing in the competition, which will really test us, but I’m confident that the boys will do us proud."

The Durham Under 15 squad includes:

1) Richard Borrowdale – Fast bowler – Barnard Castle CC

2) Kyle Davis – All rounder – Eppleton CC

3) Farooq Din – Leg spinner – Stockton CC

4) Matthew Haswell – Leg spinner - Philadelphia

5) Owen Lancaster – Off spinner - Marsden

6) Gregory Pringle – All rounder – Willington CC

7) Ryan Pringle – Batsman – Hetton Lyons
