Durham Win ECB U15 County Cup B Division Final

Durham claimed an eight-wicket victory over Cornwall in the ECB U15 Boys County Cup B Division Final at Kibworth Cricket Club in Leicestershire, yesterday.

After electing to bat, Cornwall were restricted to 88 and were bowled out in the 31^st over in an innings which saw Durham captain Jack Burnham take 4-19 from five overs.

Burnham then completed an impressive all-round display by opening the batting and scoring 33, as Durham reached their target for loss of only two wickets with 17 overs in hand.

Former England Captain Denness Passes Away

Former Essex and Kent cricketer Mike Denness, who played for Scotland and captained England, has passed away aged 72 after a long battle with cancer. Denness, a right-hand batsman, made his England debut in 1969, going on to play 28 matches, 19 of them as captain. He played the majority of his career for Kent before moving to Essex in 1977, retiring in 1980.
