ECB Announce Chairmen For Regional Cricket Disability Development Forums

ECB has appointed Jeff Levick, Martyn Dobson, Paul Millman and Mahesh Patel as voluntary Chairmen for the newly created four Regional Disability Cricket Development Forums.

The regional disability cricket development forums will provide strategic direction and relevant expertise to support County Cricket Boards in the delivery of their disability development plans to ensure the growth, excellence and sustainability of disability cricket.

Jeff Levick has been appointed as Chairman for the South and West Forum. During his 50 year involvement in cricket as a player, coach, umpire and administrator Jeff has been instrumental in developing disability cricket in Hampshire.

Martyn Dobson will chair the Midlands Disability Forum and brings a wealth of knowledge from his role as Community Development Officer at Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club.

The London and East Forum will be chaired by Paul Millman who from 1999 to 2009 held the role of Chief Executive of Kent County Cricket where he was responsible for both the First Class and recreational game.

Mahesh Patel has worked for 13 years at Sporting Equals and the English Federation of Disability Sport and will be taking the role of Chairman for the North Disability Forum. 

The appointed chairmen will drive the development of a network of expertise that can support of the County Cricket Boards in their regions. In their voluntary roles the Chairmen will work closely with both National Disability Cricket Managers and the Regional Development Managers to support the delivery of the national strategy and objectives in their region.
 
In addition to these appointments it is envisaged that a similarposition will becreated in Wales following future discussions between the newly formed Cricket Wales and The Federation of Disability Sport Wales.
 
National Disabilities Cricket Manager Ian Martin said: "I am delighted ECB has made these appointments. Jeff, Martyn, Paul and Mahesh will bring a wide range of experience and skills into disability cricket and I very much hope that their appointment will help to drive disability cricket to the next level. 

"We are enhancing our reputation as a sport that is accessible to all members of our community and these important roles will provide additional support to County Cricket Boards as they develop our sport even further."

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has unveiled a new and ambitious strategic plan with the goal of delivering successful England teams at all levels, producing a vibrant domestic game and increasing and enthusing participation during the period 2014-17. ECB today announced the launch of the Ashes School Challenge - a free interactive educational programme which will be aimed at Primary schools nationwide ahead of this summer’s Investec Ashes Test Series. The programme, which is also being supported by Chance to Shine and Cricket Australia, is designed to educate children about the Spirit of Cricket and create a legacy for grassroots cricket in England and Australia.
Yorkshire Chairman Colin Graves has been appointed Deputy Chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) after an election was held to find a replacement for Dennis Amiss, who is standing down. "The 41 members of the ECB, which comprises the 18 First-Class Counties, 21 County Boards, the MCC and the Minor Counties Cricket Association, have elected Mr Graves as Deputy Chairman until the ECB’s Annual General Meeting in 2016," a statement from the ECB confirmed.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has confirmed plans to step up its out-of-competition drug testing encompassing recreational drugs. The announcement came in a joint statement from the ECB and Surrey following the inquest into the death last year of Surrey cricketer Tom Maynard.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced that Yorkshire Tea has signed a commercial agreement to become the "Official Brew of England Cricket". The deal, which runs until October 2015, will form an integral part of Yorkshire Tea's marketing activity, including TV advertising, social media and on-pack promotion.
