Edgbaston Appoints New Head Of Commercial

Edgbaston Stadium has appointed Guy Wolfenden as Head of Commercial as part of newly structured team led by Commercial Director, Gareth Roberts, who also joins the Club early next month.

Guy will join in mid-May from Somerset CCC, where he has worked for 15 years and is currently the Head of Sales & Marketing. In his new role he will manage Warwickshire CCC's relationships with its commercial partners, the new 24-hour ticketing operation with Ticketmaster as well as the Club's membership packages. He replaces Darren Andrew who left the role of Sales & Sponsorship Manager in late-March.

Commenting on his appointment, Guy said: "Not only is Edgbaston one of the most iconic venues in world cricket, but it also boasts some of the best facilities available, following its £32 million Pavilion Stand redevelopment last summer.

"Like Somerset, Warwickshire is another fantastic Club with a very loyal fan base, and with a stadium that can host the world's biggest cricket matches. I'm looking forward to working with the new Commercial Team and utilising my experience of the cricket industry to the benefit of the Club."

Gareth Roberts, Commercial Director at Edgbaston, said: "Guy comes to Edgbaston with an outstanding track record of growing revenues on sponsorship, membership and ticketing, so he will be a great addition to the team.

"The Commercial Team has done a great job over the last few years of bringing in many new partners, who have remained with the Club. The new team gives us the opportunity to not only maintain these great relationships with leading businesses, but also explore the many other opportunities that have been created from the redevelopment of Edgbaston. We're all looking forward to the challenge ahead."

As well as the impending arrivals of Gareth and Guy, Catherine Nuttall will join as Commercial Executive in May. A recent graduate from the University of Birmingham, Catherine will also work alongside Tom Rawlings (Communications Manager) and Arnes Pobric (Strategic Marketing Officer) within the Edgbaston Commercial Team.
