With Andrew Strauss' England team about to begin their international summer as the world's number 1 Test Match team, Edgbaston Stadium is giving fans the opportunity to have a Stand renamed in their honour on Day 3 of the Third Investec Test Match between England and the West Indies.
Edgbaston is renaming the West Stand after a customer who has bought tickets in its new West Stand on Day 3 (Saturday 9 June) of the Investec Test Match, with the customer due to be drawn out at random on Thursday 1 June, with one week to go until play gets under way.
The winner will then see the West Stand rebranded in their honour for the course of play on 'People's Saturday' at the Test Match.
Colin Povey, Chief Executive of Edgbaston Stadium, said: "The West Stand was only completed last year as part of Edgbaston's £32 million redevelopment, so with no commercial partner yet in place, we thought this would be the perfect opportunity to give one of our Test Match visitors an opportunity that they will never forget.
"The world famous atmosphere that the fans create during the Edgbaston Test Match make it one of the marquee days in the British sporting calendar and I'm sure England are looking forward to returning here; they've lost just one Test Match here in the last 10 years. We're all very excited about having more great days of international cricket ahead and meeting the winner before play."
As well as having the West Stand renamed after them for the day, the customer that is drawn out will also get the chance to come on to the hallowed turf at Edgbaston before play to have their picture taken in front of the renamed stand.
