England Women's Cricket Captain, Charlotte Edwards, will be lending her support to a Cricket for Change (C4C) organised Disability Sport Awareness Day on the 15th January 2013 which will be a focus for girls and young women.

There are two planned days (the 14th and 15th January), with both being held at The MCC Indoor School at Lord’s Cricket Ground (from 10am until 2pm).

C4C also hope that the increase in exposure of sportswomen with a disability that the London Paralympic Games brought, will see around 150 girls and young women attending over the two days.

There will be an exciting mix of skill sessions and mini-games which everyone will be able to get involved in. Although the days will have a focus on cricket there will be other sports on show and some disabled people’s/girl’s organisations will be exhibiting their services, for example athletics (to be delivered by UK Athletics).

This is a fantastic opportunity for young girls with a disability to increase their awareness of opportunities available to them in sport.
