New Zealand pair Andrew Ellis and Ross Taylor have spent time in hospital in Sri Lanka after showing signs of dehydration and symptoms of gastro-enteritis.

Although Taylor managed to play - and score 72 - in the second One-Day International in Pallekele, Ellis was too unwell to be selected.

Following rehydration treatment, both players will rejoin the squad and Taylor is expected to be fit enough to play in the third game tomorrow (6th November).

A decision on Ellis's availability will be taken nearer the match.

Sri Lanka won the first game by 14 runs after a rain-affected clash.
