20-year-old Scott Elstone has signed a two-year full-time contract with Nottinghamshire having spent the 2010 season captaining the Academy side in Premier Laegue cricket.
He also played four Clydesdale Bank 40 matches and one Friends Provident t20 game on a summer contract.
“Last season was essentially an extended trial for Scott and he impressed a lot of people when he was around the first team,” Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell said.
“He captained our Notts Premier League team and scored heavily at key times for the second eleven and I’ve seen enough from him to offer him a full-time deal.
“He’s a hard working cricketer and he can become a batting all-rounder with time.”
He is currently playing club cricket in Melbourne.
