At 9am on Friday 29th October The Rose Bowl will go on sale with Main Arena tickets for their historic England v Sri Lanka npower Test Match (16th-20th June) and England’s NatWest Series One Day International against India on 6th September.

It follows a week of encouraging ticket sales in their Members’ and Northern End areas – more than 7,500 seats have been claimed for the two matches already.

It’s also the first opportunity for cricket fans across the South to buy tickets in the Family, Alcohol-free and discounted “Third Man” areas while a few final tickets remain for the “best seats in the house” in the Members’ and Northern End sections of the ground.

Cricket lovers can also get their hands on a special “passport” ticket for the Test Match, enabling them to see all five days of this historic event for the price of just three. More than 500 such tickets have already been sold.

The visitors for that match boast an impressive line-up including captain, Kumar Sangakarra, fast bowler Lasith Malinga and innovative batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan as well as 2010-season Hampshire spinner, Rangana Herath. They currently lie third in the International Cricket Council (ICC) World Test Championship Rankings – one place above England – so they will prove stiff opposition for a home side coming off the back of an Ashes Winter spent down under.

India should prove an equally daunting challenge for the hosts in the ODI - the format in which the visitors are ranked second only to Australia in the ICC World Rankings (England currently lie fifth).

Their star man is undoubtedly batsman Sachin Tendulkar. The “Little Master” has scored more than 17,000 runs in the format, including a highest score of 200 not out – becoming the first player to achieve a double hundred in an ODI in the process. Led by captain M.S. Dhoni, they also have plenty of fire-power with the ball in the shape of Harbhajan Singh and Ishant Sharma. The match is a day/night floodlit game, starting at 2pm with a scheduled finish time of 9.45pm.

To buy tickets please call 0800 197 4404 (Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm & Saturdays 9am to 1pm) or visit www.rosebowlplc.com/international.
