In a massive coup for Northants Cricket, the club is delighted to announce that it’s Sports Science and Sports Medicine Department is one of the first in County Cricket to be able to benefit from of a state of the art sport science centre incorporating an on-site endless swimming Pool.
Chief Executive Mark Tagg said "We aim to be excellent in all we do and this facility will substantially help our main assets, the players, in spending more time on the field of play. In these days of smaller squads we need to ensure that players spend less time recovering and more time playing and this fantastic addition will help make our players fitter and less susceptible to injury."
The groundbreaking partnership formed between Northants Cricket and Steve Casson, allowed the brand new Cassonz Performance Coaching Studio to be housed in the Lynn Wilson Centre here at the County Ground.
The agreement will enable Northants Cricket Strength and Conditioning Coach Carl Petersen to oversee the player’s use of the fantastic facilities, and he said, "This is a huge step forward for the club’s Sports Science & Sports Medicine department as we continue to progress in finding new innovations that help us get the very highest levels of performance out of our professionals.
"We are delighted to enter into this partnership with Steve, and I’m sure this will be of massive benefit to the wellbeing of Northants Cricket for years to come."
Steve Casson of Cassonz Performance Coaching said of the pioneering partnership. "It is fantastic news for me that the Cassonz Performance Coaching Studio comes into fruition here at the County Ground. The state of the art facilities will see triathletes come here for one to one coaching that will accelerate their learning as well as implementing beneficial changes to an athlete’s technique and efficiency.
"We are also able to record every aspect of an athlete’s technique, be it cycling, running or swimming, and I know the studio will provide Northants Cricket with the ideal space for revolutionary prehabilitation, rehabilitation and conditioning work."
